- Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem wins his country’s first Olympic medal in 32 years as he claims gold in the men’s javelin final at Paris 2024.
- India’s Neeraj Chopra was the favourite to defend his title following his victory at Tokyo 2020.
- Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo claimed gold in the men’s 200m final with 100m champion Noah Lyles finishing third.
- USA’s Tara Woodhall-Davis claimed gold in the women’s long jump final.
- Defending champion Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone broke the world record to lead a Team USA one-two in the women’s 400m final where Dutch sensation Femke Bol finished third.
- Team USA’s Grant Holloway rounded off proceedings for the day in Track and Field with gold in the men’s 110m hurdles final.
