• The Paris Olympics 2024 comes to an end with the closing ceremony.
• The event at Stade de France in Paris moved to Los Angeles at the end, ahead of the 2028 Games, where Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre and the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed on Venice Beach.
• Prior to that, Hollywood actor Tom Cruise abseiled from the roof of the stadium in the French capital to collect the Olympic flag ahead of it’s journey to LA.
• The opening ceremony was held on July 26 and was staged on the Seine in the French capital.
• The event marked the first time the opening ceremony was not held inside the Olympic Stadium of the host city.
• Lady Gaga was the headline and first act of the event, which ended with the lighting of the cauldron in a hot-air balloon next to the Louvre art museum.
