- India beat South Africa seven runs to win the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
- Player of the match Virat Kohli led the batting with 76 runs off 59 balls after India were three wickets down for 34 runs in the fifth over.
- Player of the series Jasprit Bumrah (2-18 in four overs) and Hardik Pandya (3-20 in three overs) took India home with the ball.
- Keshav Maharaj and Anrich Nortje took wickets each as India finished their innings on 176-7 in 20 overs.
- South Africa were making their first appearance in the final of a men’s ICC World Cup.
- Both teams were undefeated in the competition going into the final.
