- The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society has called on the United Nations to carry out an international investigation into the “systematic torture of Palestinian detainees” who are held in Israeli prisons and detention facilities.
- Israel has ordered residents and displaced Palestinians to evacuate the Beit Hanoon area of Gaza City, as local media warn that a “large scale” Israeli army operation is expected to begin there soon.
- Three people are dead and more than 10 wounded in overnight Israeli attacks that destroyed two homes and tents sheltering displaced people in central Gaza’s Deir el-Balah.
- Hamas has named its leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, as the movement’s new political chief to replace Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Tehran in an attack widely attributed to Israel.
