- Ukraine’s largest children’s hospital, in Kyiv, has been hit by a Russian missile barrage that also targeted several other cities.
- At least 31 people have been killed and 112 wounded across Ukraine, officials say, as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy vows revenge and urges allies to expedite missile defence systems.
- Five cities – Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Sloviansk and Kramatorsk – were among those hit as Ukraine says it shot down 30 of 38 missiles launched by Russia.
- Russia denied carrying out strikes on civilian infrastructure, calling it “absolutely untrue”, and alleged damage was caused by a Ukraine anti-aircraft missile that failed and fell back into Kyiv.
- The United Nations Security Council will meet on Tuesday – at the request of Britain, France, Ecuador, Slovenia and the United States – over the “cowardly and depraved” attacks.
