- Iranians have cast ballots to pick the successor to President Ebrahim Raisi who died in a helicopter crash earlier this year.
- There are four contenders to choose from: conservative Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf; hardliner Saeed Jalili; centrist Masoud Pezeshkian; and conservative Mostafa Pourmohammadi.
- Polls were due to close at 14:30 GMT but the election commission has extended voting by several hours.
- Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has called for a high voter turnout. At just over 48 percent, the 2021 vote had the lowest turnout in any presidential election since 1979.
