Syria updates: First flight since al-Assad’s fall departs from capital

• Forty-three people, including journalists, were on board the first flight since the fall of Bashar al-Assad as it departed from Damascus airport to Aleppo in the country’s north.
• United Nations Special Envoy Geir Pedersen has warned that Syria’s protracted conflict “has not ended yet” despite al-Assad’s overthrow, highlighting clashes between Turkish-backed and Kurdish groups in the north.
• The military chief of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) says the group would be “the first” to dissolve its armed wing and integrate into the armed forces.
• Syria’s new Prime Minister Mohammed al-Bashir has told Al Jazeera the country is running very low on foreign currency reserves.
